Krasimira Stoyneva - Wear hair not fur
I'm currently interning with Krasimira Stoyneva a fashion designer and alumni of my university, the University of East London.
Here I am wearing a beautiful hand crafted hairy jacket from the 'A/W 17 ALL ABOUT THE STARS' collection, celebrating Krasimiras animal friendly approach to fashion with her #wearhairnotfur movement.
What I like about these garments is that every piece is unique and the way that the hair is cut on each of the garments will never turn out the same... making each of the pieces one of a kind! These hairy garments can be cut in many different directions and styles, with such a variety of colours to choose from, enabling for an endless cycle of ideas and developments.
A big part of Krasimira brand is to support the environment - the brand allows for luxury jackets to be created without harming animals for their fur. Also, the brand supports sustainability by re-cutting coats and essentially giving them a new life; this way the jackets last a long time! Interestingly, the hair that is cut off of the jackets is then used to create accessories such as earrings!
Two of my favourite things are horses and fashion, I shot this beautiful hairy coat with my two horses Mister and Magners to express the versatility and movement of these garments.
