lONDON FASHION WEEK AW18
Day 1- Friday 16th February 2018
Amy Thompson Illustration
'Chasin' Dreams' AW18 Collection by Amy Thompson merges fashion and illustration to tell a story through the garments. Each piece was created by finding inspiration from different muses, for this collection her muses were children; bringing a youthful, dreamy and magical feel to the show.
Each of the pieces from the collection have a childlike aesthetic bringing a playful feel. The garments have a lot of layers and textures to them with surface design and a range of materials used intriguing the audience. There is so much attention to detail in each of the pieces with intricate details, bringing together a cohesive and fun collection. My favourite part of this collection is the detailed illustrations carefully placed into each of the garments.

Claire Tagg
AW18 Collection by Claire Tagg has an oriental feel with inspirations coming from her travels around Asia, the garments have a deconstructed and distressed look with bold illustrated prints and silhouettes inspired by the uniforms of Air hostess'.
My favourite part of this collection is the bright and eye catching colours that were used, I like how the bright colours and soft feminine prints have been brought together with strong and sharp silhouettes of the garments, to give a powerful yet relaxed formal collection. Each piece from the collection was hand beaded, ensuring that no two pieces look the same.

Day 2- Saturday 17th February 2018
Cassey Gan
'Picture Perfect' AW18 Collection by Cassey Gan has inspirations from Maria Svarbova's 'Swimming Pool' photo series, with the inspirations being incorporated into the designs through the use of fabric and print; water ripples are brought into the collection by way of curved lines, prints and fabrics are brought together by neutral colour tones with bright pops of colour.
The collection portrays how social media causes us to create an alternative version of ourselves in the pursuit of perfection, this is shown in the designs through the use of asymmetry and irregular shapes to represent the change between our regular selves and our social media portrayals. My favourite part of the collection is the bold pops of colour giving the collection an on trend look, I also like the well thought through small details in the designs.
